The much-anticipated Derby Sunday Netball League got off to an electrifying start last night with three nail-biting matches.
The Goaldiggers and Derby Ducklings kicked off the season with a match that was a true spectacle of skill and strategy. The Goaldiggers emerged victorious with a score of 10-7, but not before the Derby Ducklings put up a commendable fight.
Up next, Pass Perfect faced off against the Derwent Dames in a clash that showcased the true spirit of the game. The Dames managed to outmanoeuvre Pass Perfect with a 13-9 win.
The One Hit Wonders and The Ewes concluded the night with a pulsating match, concluding with an 8-8 stalemate, setting the tone for an unpredictable and exciting season.
The spotlight, however, shone bright on Lauren Harris from the Derby Ducklings. Despite the team's defeat, Harris' exceptional performance on the court earned her the title of 'Most Valued Player' of the week.
