Last week, the players of the King Edwards VI Northfield School for Girls netball club welcomed Week 3 of the season with open arms. The atmosphere was alive with camaraderie, solidarity, and laughter echoing around the court, an epitome of the essence of Back to Netball. From beginners to more experienced players, everyone revelled in an enjoyable evening of social netball that was as much about connecting and having fun as it was about the sport.

First up were Game of Throws and Chafing Dreams. After a spirited match filled with excellent teamwork and an abundance of positive energy, Chafing Dreams finished the game with a score of 11-6. It was an enjoyable game played in great spirit that genuinely exemplified the essence of social netball.

Next, Pocket Rockets and Spice Goals took to the court. Despite the final score of 35-5 in favour of Spice Goals, both teams demonstrated commitment and sportsmanship that was a pleasure to witness, with every player walking off the court smiling.

The third match saw the Rednal Roses face off against the Ballin Baddies. With the final score standing at 15-7 to the Ballin Baddies, the game was a testament to the amicable spirit of netball, with both sides brimming with sportsmanship and respect for each other.

Lastly, Incredi-balls played against Goal Diggers in a closely fought match, which ended 9-7 in favour of Goal Diggers. The positive energy from both teams was palpable, making it a memorable game.

A special mention must go to Emily Burdon of Incredi-balls for being named the Most Valued Player of the week. Her unparalleled enthusiasm, deft movement on the court, and overall positive contribution were not lost on her teammates and opponents alike, making her a well-deserved recipient of the honour.

As we look ahead to Week 4, we're excited to see another evening of friendly social netball. We look forward to more opportunities for keeping active, meeting new people, and honing our netball skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. Here’s to another week of fun, fitness and friendship!
