The much-anticipated Kidsgrove Sunday Netball League season kicked off last night in a thrilling fashion, with teams from the League division setting the tone for what promises to be another high-octane season.

In a nail-biting encounter that highlighted the evening, On The Attack! and Born To Play ended up sharing the spoils with a 9-9 draw, setting the stage for an unpredictable season. With neither side giving an inch, it was a true testament to the enthralling spirit of netball.

Hot on their heels were the Hot Shots, who made a blistering start to the season, winning against Catch You Later in a resounding 8-1 victory. Their formidable performance placed them as one of the top scorers for the week in the League division, marking a promising start to their campaign.

No Turning Back also made a strong statement with a 9-6 victory over Girls Just Want To Have Fun. This win places them as one of the division's leading scorers, alongside On The Attack! and Born To Play.

Our last match of the evening was the points match which was the first game for our new team Net Set Go! Despite just coming together their impeccable teamwork was highlighted throughout this match and they will be one to watch in the coming week!

Leah Stubbs of Born To Play stole the limelight this week. Thanks to her outstanding performance, she was named the most valued player of the week, a fitting accolade for a player who demonstrated exceptional skill and lethal precision in front of goal. Her exemplary play sets a high standard for the rest of the league and serves as an inspiration for her team.

As we look ahead, the excitement is palpable. The season has just begun, and if the first week is anything to go by, we're in for an exhilarating ride in the Kidsgrove Sunday Netball League. Stay tuned for the thrilling journey ahead!
