Week 1 of the Kidderminster Sunday You Play Netball League got underway at Kidderminster District Youth Trust, with teams taking to the court for the start of the new season. It was a good opening evening, with players getting back into the routine of weekly netball and enjoying the opportunity to play in a friendly and social environment.
The first match saw In The Zone take on Throwbusters. Both teams worked hard throughout the game, with plenty of effort shown across the court. In The Zone finished with 10 points, while Throwbusters scored 6. The game was played in a positive and friendly manner, with both teams showing good teamwork and commitment throughout.
Next up were Seven Sisters and Nets Go Girl. Seven Sisters had a strong performance and finished the game with 14 points, while Nets Go Girl scored 3. Despite the scoreline, Nets Go Girl continued to work hard throughout the match, with both teams showing good effort and supporting their teammates.
A special mention goes to our Most Valued Player of the week. Their enthusiasm and movement around the court stood out during the evening, with their hard work making a positive contribution to their team's performance. Their effort was also recognised by their teammates and opponents.
With Week 1 now complete, it was a positive start to the Kidderminster Sunday league. As the season progresses, teams will have plenty of opportunities to develop their play, build confidence and get to know the other teams in the league.
Our Back to Netball leagues are all about providing a friendly and social environment where women can get back into netball, keep active and enjoy playing regularly. Whether players are returning to the sport after a break or are newer to the game, everyone is encouraged to enjoy their time on court and play in the spirit of the league.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Week 2 and another evening of netball at Kidderminster District Youth Trust.
