A huge well done also goes to Nancy Silvester, who has been named this season’s Most Valued Player. Nancy will receive a pair of our exclusive netball gloves next week in recognition of her fantastic performances and positive contribution across the campaign.
The final week of the Kidderminster Sunday netball league brought another entertaining evening of matches, with teams giving everything right until the final whistle. Throughout the season, players have shown excellent teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication, helping to create a competitive but friendly atmosphere every week.
At the top of the League, the title race came to an exciting conclusion as Seven Sisters secured their place as champions with another confident performance. Facing Nets Go Girl in their final fixture, Seven Sisters showed great composure and consistency across the court, earning a well-deserved 18-4 victory. Their movement, communication, and finishing were impressive throughout the match, reflecting the quality they have demonstrated all season long.
Seven Sisters finish the campaign with an excellent record of 18 points and 9 wins, a fantastic achievement that highlights their consistency and strong team spirit. Week after week they have delivered solid performances, and their ability to work together under pressure has been a key factor behind their success this season.
Throwbusters also deserve huge credit for an outstanding season, finishing as runners-up after a number of strong displays throughout the campaign. Their final game against In The Zone proved to be one of the closest and most exciting matches of the evening. Both teams battled hard from start to finish, producing a competitive and evenly matched contest. In the end, Throwbusters edged the game 13-12, showing great determination to hold on for the win in a tense finish.
In The Zone can also take plenty of positives from their performance. They pushed Throwbusters all the way and demonstrated excellent energy and teamwork throughout the match. The narrow scoreline reflected just how competitive the game was, with both sides showing real commitment and effort until the very end.
A special mention goes to Sophia De Beer from Nets Go Girl, who was named Most Valued Player of the week following another excellent individual performance. Sophia impressed with her movement around the court, sharp shooting, and ability to read the game defensively. Her positive attitude and determination stood out, and she played an important role for her team throughout the evening.
While results are always important, one of the best aspects of the Kidderminster Sunday netball league has been the sense of community and enjoyment shared by all teams. Every week players have come together not only to compete, but also to support one another, improve their game, and enjoy being part of a welcoming and social league environment.
As this season comes to a close, we would like to thank every player, team, umpire, and supporter who has helped make the league such a success. The effort and enthusiasm shown each week have created a fantastic atmosphere, and it has been great to see so many competitive and enjoyable matches played in the right spirit.
Congratulations once again to Seven Sisters on becoming Kidderminster Sunday League champions, and well done to Throwbusters for finishing runners-up after an excellent season. We also congratulate all players who have taken part this year and look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting season soon.
