The evening air at John Ferneley College was alive with excitement, laughter, and camaraderie as players of all experience levels gathered for Week 11 of the social netball season. The welcoming atmosphere created a perfect backdrop to an engaging night of netball where players were not just competing, but also enjoying every moment.
We saw Total Meltdown pitted against The Fun Bunch. With a close score of 9-8, the game was a perfect blend of teamwork and commitment. The positive energy was palpable as both teams embraced the spirit of friendly competition.
Give Us A Shot and Rule Breakers proved to be a dynamic pair in the third game. Although Rule Breakers finished with a score of 5-3, the game was full of high spirits and enjoyable moments with both teams showcasing their commitment to the sport.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and The Mowbos finished the game with a score of 15-9. Despite the challenging and competitive nature of the game, both teams showed an unwavering commitment, with the highlight being the positivity and sportsmanship displayed by all players.
The final game saw Never Give Up and the Melton Mavericks taking the court. The game ended with a score of 12-6 to the Mavericks, but the spirit of the match was characterized by mutual respect and wonderful sportsmanship.
A special mention goes to Joanne Slattery from The Mowbos who was named the Most Valued Player. Joanne's enthusiasm, movement around the court, and positive contribution were appreciated by teammates and opponents alike. Her dedication to the game was evident and truly commendable.
As we look forward to Week 12, when the John Ferneley College courts will once again buzz with friendly banter, teamwork and the love for netball, we remember that it's not just about keeping active and developing our netball skills, but also about meeting new people and fostering a sense of community in a supportive environment.
