It was another delightful evening of social netball at Hinckley Leisure Centre this past Sunday, marking Week 2 of our season. The centre buzzed with a welcoming atmosphere, filled with players of all experience levels, all sharing the thrill of the game. The air was infused with camaraderie and laughter, a testament to the unifying power of sport and the spirit of our community.
Among the Division 1 teams, Phoenix Flyers and Burbage Ballers delivered an engaging match, finishing with a score of 10-11 to the Burbage Ballers. True sportsmanship was demonstrated by both teams throughout the game, with commitment and positive energy resonating from every player. Flames and Warrior Queens also put on a remarkable show, the Warrior Queens finishing the game with a score of 11-6. The coordination and teamwork exhibited by both teams were inspiring and a testament to the fun and friendly spirit of the game. Wrapping up the Division 1 matches, Netchicks Season 2 and Shooting Stars played a spirited game, with Shooting Stars wrapping up the game at 31-7. The players showed incredible dedication, their enjoyment of the game evident in their positive attitudes.
In the Division 2 group, Shoot Happens and Shoot For It kicked off their game with an infectious enthusiasm that spread throughout the court, with Shoot Happens concluding the game with a score of 4-3. Pitch Slaps and Nets Get Into The Groove demonstrated the true essence of teamwork in their match, with a close final score of 8-7 to the Pitch Slaps. Finally, an energetic game between Pink Ladies! and Hit Me With Your Best Shot ended with a score of 20-12 to Pink Ladies! The positive energy and sportsmanship displayed by all teams made for a truly enjoyable evening.
A special mention goes to our Most Valued Player of the week, Kirsty Seal from Shoot For It. Her enthusiasm, swift movement around the court, and sportsmanship didn't go unnoticed. Kirsty's positive contribution was appreciated by her teammates and opponents alike, proving once again that netball is as much about sportsmanship as it is about scoring goals.
As we look ahead to Week 3, we can't wait for another evening of friendly social netball. Our community gatherings are about more than the game; they're about staying active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive environment. We cherish every opportunity for growth and camaraderie that these games provide. See you all at the next bounce!
