The curtain has risen on the new season of the Uttoxeter Sunday 7-a-side Netball League, with some thrilling matches in the Premier League division delivering a night of high-stakes action and unexpected surprises.

The opening week saw a fierce battle between Net Club Seven and Hoops I Did It Again, with the former club securing a 13-6 victory. 

The evening's excitement continued with a pulsating encounter between Gunners and The Raiders. Despite a valiant effort, Gunners fell short, conceding a 5-10 defeat to The Raiders.

High Hoops and Spice Goals locked horns in an electrifying match that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. High Hoops emerged triumphant, pulling off a narrow 10-9 win over Spice Goals.

Elsewhere, Court Queens dominated Nets In The City, cruising to a commanding 19-2 victory. The team's impressive display has already marked them as one to watch in the league.

Amid the evening's exhilarating action, one player stood head and shoulders above the rest: Lucy Davey of Spice Goals. Despite her team's result, Davey turned in a star performance, earning her the title of the week's most valued player. 

The first week of the season has set the tone for an intense and unpredictable competition. As teams continue to vie for superiority in the Premier League division, netball fans can look forward to many more thrilling encounters and standout performances.
