Daventry Tuesday Netball News 2024-11-12
DAVENTRY, UK - The
highly anticipated Daventry Tuesday Netball League kicked off last night,
marking the start of what promises to be a thrilling season.
Riding high as season winners, collecting their
well-deserved medals last night, Otter's Pocket set the tone for the season
with a decisive 10-6 victory over the Pink Flamingos. Flamingos started brilliantly,
with MVP Jodie, shooting o well, taking the lead in the close first half but
couldn’t keep the Otter’s at bay in the second.
The Green Dragons faced a tough defeat, falling 12-3 to the Violet
Vipers in a match that showcased some excellent skills and sheer grit. Player of
this match goes to Dragon’s Natalie. In another match marked by solid defence,
the White Swans triumphed over the Blue Kingfishers, with a resounding win. Despite
Blue Kingfishers being on the losing end, the team boasted the most valued
player of the match, Teresa Leadbetter, who with some great interceptions was undoubtedly
responsible for keeping the opposition’s score down to single digits.
The top scorers of the night were the new Orange
Tigerlilies taking everyone by surprise, scoring 18 goals in their inaugural
game. Many thanks to the players of Otter’s Pocket for being great sports
playing out of position for the ‘points match’ with a special mention of Toni,
who worked hard but also kept everyone well entertained! Well done to Nikita
from Tigerlilies for getting MVP for her energy in the Centre bib– one to
watch!
