Congleton Thursday Social Netball - week 9

Week 9 of the Congleton Thursday Netball League took place at Congleton High School, with teams enjoying another evening of competitive fixtures and plenty of positive performances across the courts.

The first match of the evening saw Nets Top Models take on Thursday Thunder. It proved to be a closely contested game, with both teams showing good teamwork and determination throughout. Nets Top Models made the most of their opportunities in attack and were able to maintain a narrow advantage for much of the match. Thursday Thunder continued to apply pressure until the final whistle, but Nets Top Models held on to secure a 10-8 victory in an entertaining contest.

The second fixture featured West Heath Wonders against Goal Diggers. West Heath Wonders delivered a strong all-round performance, combining solid defensive work with effective shooting to record an 11-4 win. Goal Diggers continued to battle throughout the game and showed great commitment, creating chances and supporting one another until the closing stages. The match was played in a positive spirit and reflected the friendly but competitive nature of the league.

This week's Most Valued Player award went to Annie James of Goal Diggers. Annie impressed with her energy, movement around the court and positive attitude throughout the evening. Her contribution was recognised by both teammates and opponents, making her a deserving recipient of the award.

As the season continues, teams are beginning to build momentum and establish themselves in the league standings. Week 9 provided another opportunity for players to develop their skills, work together as a team and enjoy competitive netball in a welcoming environment. The commitment shown by all teams continues to make the league a great experience for players of all abilities.

Attention now turns to Week 10, where teams will be looking to build on their recent performances and secure valuable points. With every match presenting new challenges and opportunities, another evening of exciting netball is expected at Congleton High School.
