Congleton Thursday night netball - week 2

Play in the Congleton Thursday netball league

Week two of the Congleton Thursday netball league provided another enjoyable evening of netball, as teams continued to settle into the season and grow in confidence within the League. With players becoming more familiar with one another and building combinations on court, the standard of play is already beginning to develop nicely.

One of the standout fixtures saw Beartown Ballers take on Goal Diggers. The Ballers came away with an 11-4 win, showing good organisation and teamwork across all areas of the court. Their movement and communication helped them create scoring opportunities, while Goal Diggers remained committed throughout, continuing to work hard and look for openings of their own. It was a positive display from both sides as they continue to build into the season.

In another well-matched game, Net’s Top Models faced West Heath Wonders in a competitive contest that ended 12-7. Both teams showed good passages of play, with moments of strong defending and well-worked attacking moves. Net’s Top Models managed to edge ahead with consistent play, but West Heath Wonders contributed well and kept the game competitive throughout, making it an enjoyable match for everyone involved.

There were also strong individual performances across the evening, with Cerys Goodman of West Heath Wonders being named Player of the Week. Her contribution on court stood out, with a combination of effort, awareness, and teamwork that made a real difference for her side. Performances like this continue to highlight the positive and supportive spirit within the league.

Across the League, teams are showing steady improvement each week, with players gaining confidence and developing their understanding of the game. The focus remains on enjoying netball, working together, and creating a welcoming and competitive environment for all involved.

As the season progresses, there is plenty to look forward to. Teams will be aiming to build on their performances, strengthen their teamwork, and continue enjoying their time on court. With more fixtures ahead, the League promises plenty more engaging and closely fought matches in the weeks to come.
