Coleshill Sunday Social Netball - week 9

Week 9 of the Birmingham Sunday social netball league took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre, with three games played across the evening. Players took to the court for another round of fixtures, with teams continuing to build their confidence, develop their game and enjoy playing together.

The first game saw Falcons take on The A Team. Falcons finished the game with 17 goals, while The A Team scored 2. Falcons put together a strong performance, with good movement and passing helping them create opportunities throughout the game. The A Team continued to work hard and stayed involved throughout the fixture, making the most of their opportunities and keeping the game moving.

The second fixture was between Goal Diggers and Netbusters. Goal Diggers finished with 18 goals, while Netbusters scored 3. Goal Diggers had a productive game in attack, while Netbusters continued to work hard across the court. Both teams showed good commitment and kept the game friendly throughout.

The final game of the evening saw Hot Shots face Phoenix. Phoenix finished with 19 goals to Hot Shots’ 3. Phoenix found plenty of opportunities in attack and converted well, while Hot Shots continued to compete and work hard throughout the game.

Our Most Valued Player of the Week was Kayleigh Mills from Netbusters. Kayleigh was recognised for her enthusiasm, movement around the court and positive approach throughout the game. She was a great example of the contribution players can make both on court and within their team. Well done, Kayleigh!

Week 9 provided another opportunity for everyone to get out on court, enjoy some netball and spend time with their teammates. While the scores are part of the game, our social leagues are designed to give women the chance to play regularly in a friendly and welcoming environment.

For those returning to netball after a break, or players who may be newer to the sport, the league is a great way to build confidence and improve skills while meeting other local players. We encourage teams to keep supporting one another and to play every fixture in the spirit of Back to Netball.
