Birmingham Sunday You Play Netball League

Week 8 of the Birmingham Sunday You Play Netball League took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre, with teams returning to court for another evening of social netball. There were some competitive games throughout the evening, with players showing good teamwork and commitment as the season continues.

The first match saw Netbusters take on Falcons. Both teams worked hard throughout the game, with plenty of effort shown in both attack and defence. Falcons came away with a narrow 9–7 victory over Netbusters after a closely contested game. Both teams continued to work hard until the final whistle and played the match in a friendly and competitive spirit.

Next up were The A Team and Hot Shots. Hot Shots started strongly and maintained their lead throughout the game, finishing with a 16–8 win. The A Team continued to work hard and created opportunities throughout the match, while Hot Shots showed good teamwork to secure the points.

The final game of the evening saw Phoenix face Wingin It. Phoenix finished the match with a 12–8 victory. Both teams put in a good effort throughout the game, with players working hard to support their teammates and create scoring opportunities. It was another enjoyable match played in the friendly spirit of the league.

A special mention goes to Michelle Johnson from The A Team, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Michelle showed plenty of enthusiasm throughout the game and worked hard around the court. Her movement, effort and commitment made a positive contribution to her team and earned her this week's recognition.

It was another successful week for the Birmingham Sunday league, with teams continuing to enjoy regular netball in a friendly and social environment. Our Back to Netball leagues are designed to give women the opportunity to get back on court, keep active, meet new people and enjoy playing netball, regardless of previous experience.

As we look ahead to Week 9, we look forward to seeing all the teams back at Coleshill Leisure Centre for another evening of netball. With the season continuing to progress, there will be plenty more opportunities for teams to develop their game, build confidence and enjoy being part of the league.
