Play in the Coleshill Sunday You Play Netball League

Week 7 of the Coleshill Sunday You Play Netball League took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre, with teams returning to the court for another enjoyable evening of social netball. Players of all experience levels took part in a series of competitive fixtures, with plenty of teamwork, determination and good sportsmanship shown throughout the evening.

The first match saw Falcons take on Hot Shots. It was a closely contested game, with both teams working hard to create scoring opportunities and maintain control of the match. Hot Shots secured the win with a final score of 14–10, but Falcons remained competitive throughout and continued to challenge their opponents until the final whistle. Both teams showed good teamwork and commitment, making it an enjoyable opening fixture.

The next game saw Wingin It face The A Team. Wingin It put in a strong performance and came away with a 14–8 victory. They worked well together across the court and made the most of their opportunities in front of goal. The A Team continued to work hard throughout the match and showed determination from start to finish. Both teams played with a positive attitude and contributed to another enjoyable game.

The final match of the evening saw Goal Diggers take on Phoenix in one of the closest games of the night. Both teams showed great commitment and worked hard throughout the fixture, with the score remaining close until the final whistle. Goal Diggers eventually secured an 18–16 victory, but Phoenix pushed them all the way and should be proud of their performance. The match was full of competitive play, teamwork and determination from both sides.

A special mention goes to Zara Phillips from Wingin It, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Zara’s hard work, movement around the court and positive contribution to her team made her a deserving recipient of the award. The Most Valued Player award recognises players who support their teammates, demonstrate good sportsmanship and make a valuable contribution on court, and Zara displayed these qualities throughout the evening.

It has been great to see teams continuing to build confidence, develop their teamwork and enjoy their time on court as the season progresses. The Coleshill Sunday You Play Netball League provides a welcoming and supportive environment where players can stay active, meet new people and enjoy playing netball, whether they are returning to the sport or playing for the first time.

As we look ahead to Week 8, we are looking forward to another evening of friendly and competitive fixtures at Coleshill Leisure Centre. Thank you to everyone who took part during Week 7 and helped maintain the positive atmosphere throughout the evening. The support and encouragement shown by teams both on and off the court continue to make the league an enjoyable place to play.

We would also like to remind all teams to continue playing in the friendly spirit of the Back to Netball league. Please support your teammates, respect your opponents and accept the umpires’ decisions. Umpires are there to help games run safely and fairly, and their decisions should always be respected.
