Play in the Birmingham Sunday Netball League

Week 3 of the Birmingham Sunday Netball League took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre, where another fantastic evening of social netball brought together players of all abilities. The league continues to provide a welcoming environment for both experienced players and those returning to the sport, with every match played in a friendly yet competitive spirit. Throughout the evening, there was plenty of encouragement from teammates, impressive teamwork, and a great atmosphere on and off the court.

The first match saw The A Team take on Wingin It in a closely contested fixture. Both teams battled hard throughout the game, producing some excellent passages of play and working tirelessly in both attack and defence. Wingin It edged the contest with a narrow 7-6 victory, but there was very little to separate the two sides. The game remained competitive until the final whistle, with both teams showing determination, resilience, and excellent sportsmanship throughout.

The second fixture featured Phoenix against Goal Diggers. Goal Diggers produced a strong attacking performance to secure a 16-8 victory, moving the ball confidently through the court and making the most of their scoring opportunities. Phoenix continued to work hard throughout the match, creating chances of their own and showing good teamwork despite the result. Both teams demonstrated great communication and commitment, making for another enjoyable game that reflected the positive nature of the league.

The final match of the evening saw Hot Shots face Falcons. Falcons delivered a composed performance to record a 9-4 win, with some well-worked attacking moves and solid defensive play throughout the game. Hot Shots never stopped competing and continued to support one another until the final whistle, producing several promising passages of play. The match was played in excellent spirit, with both teams displaying the teamwork and positive attitude that make the Birmingham Sunday Netball League such an enjoyable competition.

Congratulations to this week's Most Valued Player, Kayleigh Mills from Netbusters. Kayleigh's energy, movement around the court, and consistently positive attitude stood out across the evening. She worked hard in every phase of the game, encouraged those around her, and made a valuable contribution whenever she was on court. Her enthusiasm and commitment were recognised by both teammates and opponents, making her a worthy recipient of this week's award.

With three weeks of the season now complete, teams are continuing to grow in confidence and build strong partnerships on court. Each week brings new opportunities to improve skills, enjoy competitive matches, and meet new people in a welcoming and supportive environment. It's fantastic to see players developing as the season progresses while continuing to embrace the social spirit that makes the league so popular.
