Birmingham Sunday You Play Netball League – Week 13

Week 13 of the Birmingham Sunday You Play social netball league took place at Coleshill Leisure Centre, with teams returning to court for another evening of competitive and enjoyable netball. Players of different experience levels came together to take part in their weekly fixtures, with all teams looking to put in strong performances and make the most of their games.

The first match of the evening saw Netbusters take on Goal Diggers. Goal Diggers produced a strong performance and finished the game with a 23-2 victory. Netbusters continued to compete throughout the match and showed good determination, while Goal Diggers maintained their advantage and finished with a convincing result. Both teams played the game in a positive and respectful manner.

Next on court were The A Team and Falcons. The two teams produced a competitive game, with Falcons eventually securing a 14-10 win. The A Team continued to challenge throughout the match, while Falcons worked hard to maintain their lead. The four-goal difference reflected a closely contested game, with both teams showing good teamwork and commitment from start to finish.

The final match of the evening saw Phoenix face Hot Shots in the closest game of the night. Phoenix finished with a narrow 14-13 victory after a competitive match between the two teams. With only one goal separating the sides at the final whistle, both teams had to work hard throughout the game. Hot Shots continued to push for an equaliser, while Phoenix held on to secure the win.

A special mention goes to Tira Spence of Phoenix, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Tira put in a strong performance, showing good movement around the court and making a positive contribution to her team's efforts. Her work rate and commitment throughout the game earned her recognition from her team and made her a worthy recipient of the weekly award.

Week 13 provided a good mix of results, from Goal Diggers' convincing win to the closely fought match between Phoenix and Hot Shots. The games also gave teams another opportunity to build their confidence, improve their teamwork and continue developing their netball throughout the season.

The Birmingham Sunday social netball league continues to provide a regular opportunity for players to get active, enjoy competitive netball and meet other players in a friendly setting. With Week 14 next on the schedule, teams will be looking to build on their performances and make the most of their next fixtures.
