Play in the Coleshill Sunday You Play Netball League
The Coleshill Sunday Netball League returned this week as teams took to the court for the opening round of fixtures in the League. With the new season now underway, players and spectators alike were able to see how teams have prepared ahead of the first competitive games.
Wingin It made a positive start to their season with a 22–8 win over The A Team. From the opening whistle, Wingin It were able to settle quickly and convert their chances, gradually extending their lead as the match progressed. The A Team remained committed throughout and continued to challenge defensively, but Wingin It’s consistency in attack proved decisive.
In the second fixture of the evening, Pivot And Pass faced Thou Shalt Not Pass in a match that was largely shaped by strong defensive play. Scoring opportunities were limited for both sides, with Thou Shalt Not Pass managing to capitalise on their chances to secure a 9–0 victory. Pivot And Pass worked hard across the court and showed resilience, despite being unable to find the scoreboard.
Although Pivot And Pass were unable to record a goal, Grace O'Malley delivered an impressive individual performance and was named the most valued player of the week. Her efforts stood out across the round of fixtures and provided a positive highlight for her team.
At the end of the first week, Wingin It finished as the highest-scoring team in the League, registering 22 goals. While it is still early in the season, the opening results offer an initial indication of the competition ahead, with teams now looking to build momentum as the fixtures continue.
