The Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre was abuzz with the thrill of friendly competition on Monday, marking the fifth week of a delightful social netball season. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie, as players of all experience levels came together for a beautiful evening of sport and socialising, demonstrating the spirit of inclusivity and fun that is at the heart of the Back to Netball programme.

The first match of the evening saw Cheslyn Chicas face off against Netballerz, and what a game it was! The final score saw Netballerz with a total of 12, Cheslyn Chicas finishing on 6. Both teams showcased a fantastic display of teamwork and commitment, their positive energy resonating throughout the game and reflecting the true spirit of social netball.

Next up were Bibs And Balls and Cheslyn Shooters, with the Shooters finishing with a score of 25 to Bibs And Balls' 4. Despite the point difference, both teams played with great sportsmanship and enthusiasm, making it an enjoyable game for players and spectators alike.

Shooting Stars and Net Chicks gave us a lively match, with Shooting Stars finishing ahead on a close 12-9 scoreline. Both teams played with enormous vim, their infectious energy radiating throughout the court.

Our final match of the evening saw Court Red Handed and No Regrets Just Nets light up the court. No Regrets Just Nets ended the game with 15 points to Court Red Handed's 10, a game filled with great spirit, laughter and camaraderie.

But the star of the evening was definitely Laura Ranford from Cheslyn Shooters, who was recognised as the Most Valued Player of the week. Laura's spectacular movement around the court, coupled with her infectious enthusiasm, made her a joy to watch. Her positive contribution to the game was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike, setting a shining example of sportsmanship for all.

As we look forward to Week 6, let's remember that these evenings aren't just about staying active and developing our netball skills. They're also about the joy of meeting new people, the bonds formed on and off the court, and the shared love of the game. So let's continue to play in the same supportive environment that we've built over the past five weeks, and make the next evening of social netball just as memorable.
