Opening the fifth week of social netball at the Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre, the atmosphere was vibrant with excitement and camaraderie. Players of all different skill levels came together to partake in an evening filled with mutual respect, sportsmanship, and the pure joy of the sport. It was truly a testament to the spirit of netball and the welcoming community that has been built around it.

In the first match of the evening, team Netballerz and Bibs and Balls showed us a game to remember. The final score rested at Netballerz 18, Bibs and Balls 14, but the true victory was in the way both teams worked together, demonstrated commitment, and exuded a positive energy that was infectious to all present. The essence of sportsmanship is not just about winning, but enjoying the game and this match was a perfect embodiment of that sentiment.

Following this, Net Chicks and No Regrets Just Nets played a spirited game. Net Chicks ended with a score of 27-9. The game was more about the commitment and energy that both teams displayed, rather than the final score. The enthusiasm and supportive environment on the court were palpable, making the match truly enjoyable.

The third match saw Court Red Handed and Shooting Stars in action. The game concluded with Shooting Stars scoring 22 and Court Red Handed 2. Regardless of the score, both teams displayed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game, keeping the spirit of social netball alive and well.

The final game of the evening saw the Cheslyn Shooters play the Cheslyn Chicas, finishing with a 19-8 score in favour of Cheslyn Shooters. The team spirit, effort and positive energy displayed by both teams were commendable, making the game a pleasure to watch.

A special mention must be given to Jodie Gittings from Cheslyn Chicas. Recognised as the Most Valued Player of the week, Jodie's enthusiasm, movement around the court, and positive contribution really stood out. Jodie's performance was appreciated by both her teammates and opponents alike, truly embodying the spirit of the game.

As we look forward to Week 6, we're excited for another evening of friendly social netball. It's not just about keeping active, but also about meeting new people, and developing our netball skills in a supportive environment. Here's to another week of Back to Netball and the spirit of community it fosters.
