These initial matches demonstrated the high level of competition that can be expected in the thrilling weeks to come.

In Division 2, the week's matches were no less gripping. Sweaty Betty's made a valiant attempt but fell short against Glynneath Gazelles B, ending the match at 16-20. Steel Town Shooters fired their way to victory with a 12-6 win over Hoops I Did It Again, while the Socket Shifters managed a tight 10-9 win over Court In The Act.

The star of the week was undoubtedly Monika Samaraweera of The Queen Bees, who was named the most valued player. Samaraweera's outstanding performance and sportsmanship on the court were key factors in her team's significant victory.
