The Neath Tuesday 7-a-side netball league kicked off its first week of the season in high spirits and fierce competition. The teams, split into two divisions, Division 1 and Division 2, clashed fiercely to set the tone for the season.
In Division 1, the Glynneath Gal-Zelles made a powerful statement against The Vixens, with a dominating score of 22-5. Their relentless attack and impenetrable defence set the bar high for the rest of the league. Not too far behind, Socket Shifters managed sturdy win over The Queen Bees, 14-9, displaying an impressive team effort. Meanwhile, Spice Goals also started their campaign positively with a decisive 14-6 victory over Block It Like It's Hot, showcasing their team's synergy and skillful play.
Division 2 had its share of high-voltage matches as well. Sweaty Betty's were the showstoppers of the evening, demolishing Pulse Chasers 17-3, while Hoops I Did It Again bested Steel Town Shooters with a scoreline of 15-9. However, the most astounding performance came from High Hoops, who dominated the court with a triumphant 18-2 victory against Glynneath Gazelles.
The week's Most Valued Player award was bestowed upon Amy Hadley of Hoops I Did It Again. Hadley's outstanding performance played a significant role in her team's triumph, solidifying her as an early standout in the league.
With the season just beginning, the top scorers for each division are Glynneath Gal-Zelles in Division 1 and High Hoops in Division 2.
