Royal Leamington Spa Thursday Social Netball - week 9

Week 9 of the Royal Leamington Spa Thursday Netball League took place at Campion School, with teams enjoying another evening of competitive fixtures and plenty of entertaining action across the courts.

The opening match saw Goal Diggas face Wingin It in what proved to be one of the closest games of the evening. Both teams matched each other throughout the contest, with neither side able to establish a significant advantage. Strong attacking play and determined defending kept the scoreline tight from start to finish, and the game ended in a well-deserved 13-13 draw. It was an excellent contest that highlighted the competitive nature of the league and the commitment shown by both teams.

The second fixture featured Pitch Perfect against Nets Go Girl. Pitch Perfect produced a strong all-round performance, combining accurate shooting with effective teamwork to secure a 16-5 victory. Nets Go Girl continued to work hard throughout the match and created several good opportunities of their own, but Pitch Perfect maintained control and finished the game as deserved winners.

The final game of the night saw Pivot Panthers take on Net Pressure. Both teams started brightly, but Net Pressure gradually built momentum and made the most of their attacking opportunities. Their consistent play across all areas of the court helped them secure a 19-10 win. Pivot Panthers showed plenty of determination throughout the match and continued to compete until the final whistle in another enjoyable contest.

This week's Most Valued Player award was presented to Jane Dennehy of Nets Go Girl. Jane's movement, effort and positive attitude stood out during the evening, making a valuable contribution for her team. Her performance earned recognition from both teammates and opponents and highlighted the qualities that make the league such an enjoyable competition to be part of.

With Week 9 complete, the league table is beginning to take shape, but there is still plenty to play for as teams enter the latter stages of the season. Every fixture continues to provide opportunities for players to improve, enjoy competitive netball and contribute to their team's progress.

Attention now turns to Week 10, where teams will be looking to build on their recent performances and continue collecting important points. With several evenly matched teams in the division, another evening of close games and exciting netball is expected at Campion School.
