The Royal Leamington Spa Thursday Netball League continued in fantastic fashion this week as teams returned to the court for another evening of competitive and entertaining action. Week three of the League delivered plenty of quality netball, with strong team performances, impressive individual displays, and growing momentum as the season begins to take shape.
Defending champions Goal Diggas once again showed why they are regarded as one of the teams to beat this season, producing an excellent all-round performance in their 28-9 victory over Wingin It. From the opening whistle, Goal Diggas looked composed and confident, moving the ball efficiently through the court and working tirelessly both in attack and defence. Their sharp passing, intelligent movement, and accurate finishing allowed them to gradually extend their lead throughout the match.
Wingin It continued to battle hard and showed determination throughout the game, creating some promising passages of play despite facing a very organised opponent. While the scoreline favoured Goal Diggas, there were still positive moments for Wingin It to build on as they look ahead to the upcoming fixtures.
Another exciting contest saw Nets Go Girl secure a deserved 16-7 win against Pitch Perfect. Nets Go Girl impressed with their consistency and teamwork, settling into the game quickly and maintaining control for large periods of the match. Their defensive pressure helped limit opportunities for Pitch Perfect, while their attacking unit capitalised on chances with some confident shooting under pressure.
Pitch Perfect worked hard throughout and continued to show good spirit and resilience despite finding it difficult to close the gap. There were encouraging signs within their performance, and they will no doubt be looking to take those positives into next week’s games as the season progresses.
Pivot Panthers also enjoyed a successful evening with a strong 20-6 victory over Net Pressure. The Panthers demonstrated excellent communication and fluid movement across the court, allowing them to create regular scoring opportunities. Their defence played a particularly important role in disrupting Net Pressure’s rhythm and forcing turnovers at key moments in the game.
Net Pressure continued to compete with energy and determination, refusing to let their heads drop despite the challenge posed by a confident Panthers side. Their effort and commitment remained evident throughout the match, and they will be aiming to turn those qualities into positive results in the coming weeks.
Alongside the team performances, several players stood out with excellent individual contributions during the evening’s fixtures. This week’s Most Valued Player award went to Collette Daly from Pass N Pivot, whose outstanding display earned well-deserved recognition. Daly impressed with her movement around the court, composure on the ball, and excellent shooting accuracy, consistently making an impact whenever her team needed her. Her performance was a brilliant example of the quality and competitiveness on display throughout the League.
As the season continues, the competition is already beginning to develop into an exciting and closely contested campaign. Teams are starting to find their rhythm, build partnerships on court, and establish themselves within the standings. With every fixture carrying increasing importance, players and supporters alike can look forward to many more entertaining matches in the weeks ahead.
The atmosphere at the Royal Leamington Spa Thursday Netball League continues to grow each week, with teams enjoying both the competitive nature of the games and the social side of the league environment.
