Play in the Newport Wednesday You Play Netball League

Week 6 of the Newport Wednesday social netball league took place at Burton Borough School, with teams returning to the court for another evening of competitive and friendly netball. The four fixtures provided plenty of opportunities for players to work on their passing, movement and teamwork, while continuing to enjoy regular weekly netball.

The first match of the evening saw Goalden Girls take on Caught Offside. Goalden Girls made a strong start and were able to create a number of scoring opportunities as the game progressed. Caught Offside continued to work hard across the court and looked to challenge for possession and create chances in attack.

Goalden Girls finished the match with a 14-4 victory. Both teams showed good commitment throughout the game and continued to compete right through to the final whistle.

Next up were Court Queens and Jump! Jump!. Court Queens established a strong lead during the match and maintained their advantage as the game progressed. Jump! Jump! continued to work hard and looked for opportunities to move the ball forward and put pressure on their opponents.

Court Queens secured a 23-5 win at the end of the match. Both teams showed good effort throughout, with players continuing to support their teammates and compete across the court.

The third fixture saw Irreplaceaballs face Ball Snatchers in what proved to be the closest game of the evening. Both teams worked hard in attack and defence, with neither side giving up possession easily. The game remained competitive throughout, with both teams looking for opportunities to add to the scoreboard.

Irreplaceaballs eventually secured a narrow 6-4 victory over Ball Snatchers. The two-goal difference reflected the competitive nature of the game, with both teams putting in a strong effort from start to finish.

The final match of Week 6 saw Block It Like Its Hot take on FireBallz. Both teams worked hard throughout the fixture, with plenty of effort across the court as they looked to create scoring opportunities and defend against their opponents.

Block It Like Its Hot finished with an 8-4 win over FireBallz. Both teams continued to compete throughout the game and rounded off another busy evening of netball at Burton Borough School.

The Most Valued Player award for Week 6 went to Rachael Bollands from Irreplaceaballs. Rachael was recognised for her movement around the court, enthusiasm and overall contribution to her team's performance. Her work rate and commitment helped her stand out during a closely contested match. Well done, Rachael!

With Week 6 now complete, the teams can look ahead to Week 7 and another round of fixtures. The Newport Wednesday league gives players the opportunity to play regular netball, stay active and continue developing their skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

The league is open to players with different levels of experience, including those returning to netball after a break and those who simply want to play regularly with a team. Each week provides an opportunity to improve skills, build confidence and enjoy competitive games with teammates and opponents.
