Week 2 of the social netball season at Burton Borough School saw another busy evening of netball, with four fixtures taking place. Teams continued to settle into the new season, with a mix of close games and strong performances across the evening.
The first match saw Goalden Girls take on Ball Snatchers. The two teams were evenly matched throughout the fixture, with neither side able to gain a clear advantage. The game finished in an 11-11 draw, with both teams continuing to compete until the final whistle.
Court Queens then faced Block It Like It's Hot in the second game of the evening. Court Queens had a strong performance and finished with a 21-5 victory. Block It Like It's Hot continued to work hard throughout the match and kept competing until the end.
The third fixture saw FireBallz take on Irreplaceaballs. Irreplaceaballs finished the game with a 14-7 win after a competitive match. Both teams worked hard across the court, creating opportunities and continuing to push throughout the fixture.
The final game saw Jump! Jump! face Caught Offside. This was another close contest, with Caught Offside securing a narrow 11-10 victory. With just one goal separating the teams, both sides continued to compete right through to the final whistle.
A special mention goes to Becky Stirling from Caught Offside, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Becky put in a strong performance, showing good movement around the court and making a valuable contribution to her team's narrow victory.
