Play in the Newport Wednesday You Play Netball League

Week 13 of the Newport Wednesday You Play Netball League took place at Burton Borough School, where players of all abilities came together for another enjoyable evening of social netball. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with plenty of competitive games played in the true spirit of the league.

The first match of the evening saw Caught Offside take on Jump! Jump! in a closely contested game. Neither team could be separated as the match finished in a 9-9 draw. Both sides worked hard throughout, producing some excellent passages of play and showing great teamwork from start to finish.

Next up, Block It Like Its Hot faced Court Queens. Both teams played with plenty of energy and determination, creating an entertaining game for everyone watching. Court Queens put together a strong performance to secure a 22-11 victory, but both teams should be proud of their efforts and the positive attitude they showed throughout the match.

The third game saw FireBallz take on Irreplaceaballs in another competitive contest. Both teams battled well across the court, with some good defensive play and well-worked attacking moves. Irreplaceaballs came away with an 11-6 win, but the match was played in great spirits, with both teams encouraging one another throughout.

The final game of the evening featured Ball Snatchers against Goalden Girls. Goalden Girls produced a confident team performance to claim a 19-5 victory. Ball Snatchers continued to work hard until the final whistle, and both teams demonstrated the sportsmanship and friendly approach that make the league such an enjoyable place to play.

This week's Most Valued Player award went to Poppy Crabb from Goalden Girls. Poppy impressed with her work rate, movement around the court, and positive attitude throughout the evening. Her encouragement of teammates and determination on court made her a well-deserved recipient of this week's award.

With Week 13 now complete, we look forward to welcoming everyone back for Week 14. Every Wednesday evening is another opportunity to enjoy competitive but friendly netball, improve your skills, keep active, and spend time with a fantastic group of players.
