In a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork, the Newport Wednesday Netball League wrapped up its 7th week of intense competition yesterday. The premier league division hosted a slew of gripping matches that had spectators on edge throughout the night.
In the first match, Block It Like Its Hot pulled off a slim victory against Ball Snatchers, with a final score of 5-4. The game was a nail-biter, with both teams showcasing impeccable defence and attack strategies.
However, the most shocking match of the night was undoubtedly FireBallz against Goalden Girls. Goalden Girls emerged as the unchallenged victors with an astounding scoreline of 16-0. Their unyielding defence and razor-sharp shooting skills earned them a well-deserved win.
Caught Offside and Court Queens faced off in a match that saw Court Queens dominate with a decisive 18-5 victory. Meanwhile, Jump! Jump! put up a valiant fight but fell short against the Irreplaceaballs, who took the match with a score of 13-5.
The star of the week was Niki Lloyd from Ball Snatchers, who was named the league's Most Valued Player. Despite her team's narrow loss, Lloyd's exceptional performance on the court was a testament to her skill and determination.
With seven weeks of the season in the books, we're beginning to see some clear front-runners in each division. While the Goalden Girls and Court Queens are currently leading the Premier League division, there's still plenty of action to come. If this week's matches are any indication, we're in for an exhilarating race to the top.
