Newport Wednesday night netball - week 6

Newport Wednesday Netball League – Week Six Round-Up

It was another entertaining evening in the Newport Wednesday Netball League, as teams returned to court for week six of the season. With plenty of positive energy, teamwork, and competitive spirit on display, the league continues to provide exciting midweek netball.

The Goalden Girls delivered a strong performance, earning a 19–4 win over Caught Offside. Their smooth passing and consistent shooting helped them settle into the game early and maintain control throughout.

The Court Queens also enjoyed a successful evening, securing a 20–7 victory against Jump! Jump!. Their organised defensive play and confident attacking movement saw them build momentum as the match progressed.

Irreplaceaballs put in a composed and focused performance to claim a 14–3 win over Ball Snatchers. Their steady teamwork and smart decision-making across the court made the difference on the night.

The closest contest of the round came between Block It Like It’s Hot and Fireballz, with Fireballz narrowly taking the win 6–4 in a closely fought match that kept everyone engaged until the final whistle.

A special mention goes to Laura Henighan-Davies of Block It Like It’s Hot, who was named Most Valued Player of the Week. Her effort, skill, and commitment stood out, making a positive impact for her team.

Week six highlighted not only the competitive nature of the league but also the strong sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie shared by all teams. With another week ahead, there’s plenty more netball action to look forward to.
