Week five of the Newport Wednesday Netball League delivered another enjoyable evening of matches, with teams showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship across the courts.

The evening got underway with Block It Like It’s Hot producing a confident performance to secure a 12–4 win over Caught Offside. Their consistency and composure helped them maintain control throughout the match.

FireBallz followed with a strong 10–3 victory over Ball Snatchers. Nicola Matheson stood out for FireBallz and was named Most Valued Player of the Week, recognised for her influential all-round performance and contribution to her team’s success.

Goalden Girls continued their impressive run with a 19–4 win against Jump! Jump!, showcasing great movement and teamwork as they strengthened their position in the League.

One of the closest matches of the night saw Court Queens edge past Irreplaceaballs with a 12–9 win. Both teams showed resilience and competitive spirit in a well-fought contest that kept the game exciting until the final whistle.

With another week complete, the Newport Wednesday Netball League continues to offer competitive yet welcoming netball, setting the stage for more enjoyable fixtures as the season progresses.
