Congratulations to this season’s winners, Court Queens, and the runners-up, Goalden Girls. A special congratulations also goes to Kathy Tagg from Ball Snatchers, who was named Most Valued Player of the season.
It was an enjoyable and competitive evening at the Newport Wednesday Netball League, marking both the 14th week and the conclusion of the season. Teams across the league came together for a memorable finale, showcasing commitment, teamwork, and passion for the game.
In the league, Court Queens finished top of the table, securing the championship with 28 points and an impressive record of 14 wins. Known for their strong teamwork and well-organised play, they rounded off their season with a confident 21–12 win against Caught Offside.
Despite the result, Ruth Handley of Caught Offside delivered an excellent performance and was deservedly named Most Valued Player of the Week, recognising her skill and determination on court.
Elsewhere in the league, Goalden Girls enjoyed a convincing 16–3 win over FireBallz, while Block It Like Its Hot claimed a narrow 9–7 victory against Ball Snatchers. Irreplaceaballs completed the final week with a closely contested 13–10 win over Jump! Jump!.
The final week of the Newport Wednesday Netball League was a fitting end to the season, celebrating sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive netball. As the season draws to a close, there is plenty to look forward to next year after such an exciting run of matches. Congratulations to all teams in the league, and especially Court Queens, on a fantastic season.
