Bridgend Sunday Netball Update - Week 5

All the Latest from Your Local Social Netball League at Brackla Sports Centre

Week 5 of the Bridgend Sunday Social Netball League brought another brilliant evening of netball, full of teamwork, encouragement and some fantastic individual performances. A special shoutout goes to Olivia John from Netty Betties, who was named Player of the Week after an excellent all-round display on court.

Netball Ninjas and Wangerz played out a closely contested and entertaining match, with Wangerz just edging ahead 20–17. It was a great game to watch, with both teams showing strong communication and positive energy throughout.

Hoops I Did It Again and All Sorts couldn’t be separated in an exciting 18–18 draw. Both teams worked tirelessly from start to finish, and the supportive atmosphere on court really summed up what the league is all about.

Cougars enjoyed a solid performance against Pink Ladies, finishing 5–0 in a match played in great spirit. Pink Panthers also found their rhythm during their game against Clover Catchers, putting together some lovely passages of play to secure a 25–0 result.

The evening wrapped up with Netty Betties securing a 5–0 win over Nets Go. Olivia John’s performance stood out, with her movement, teamwork and positive attitude making a big difference for her side — a very well-deserved Player of the Week award.

It’s fantastic to see so many players improving week by week, building confidence and enjoying the social side of the league just as much as the netball itself. The atmosphere each Sunday continues to be welcoming, supportive and full of community spirit.
