Week 8 of the Kidderminster Tuesday You Play Netball League took place at Baxter College, with teams once again enjoying a competitive evening of netball as the season continued.
The first match of the night saw Hoops I Did It Again take on Shooting Stars. Both teams started strongly and produced an entertaining contest, moving the ball well through the court and creating plenty of scoring opportunities. Shooting Stars maintained their advantage throughout the game and secured a 16-12 victory, but both teams can take credit for an excellent performance and a closely contested match.
Goal Diggers faced On The Ball in what proved to be one of the most evenly matched games of the evening. Neither side was able to pull away as the lead changed hands several times throughout the contest. With both teams showing great determination and teamwork, the match finished all square at 12-12, a fair result after a competitive encounter.
Pink Panthers continued their strong form with a convincing 17-9 win over Wingin It. Pink Panthers were clinical in attack and worked hard defensively to maintain control of the game. Wingin It continued to battle throughout and showed plenty of determination, but Pink Panthers proved too strong on the night.
The final fixture saw Little Ladies take on Kiss My Pass. Little Ladies delivered an impressive performance, combining accurate shooting with effective movement around the court to secure a 24-3 victory. Kiss My Pass continued to compete with great spirit and effort despite the scoreline, demonstrating the positive attitude that has been evident throughout the league this season.
This week's Most Valuable Player award goes to Akhila Joseph from Wingin It. Akhila delivered an excellent individual performance and impressed with her movement, work rate and positive attitude throughout the evening. Her contribution was recognised by players across the league, making her a worthy recipient of the award.
