Week 5 of the Didcot Thursday Netball League provided a full evening of well-contested matches, with each game offering its own rhythm and passages of strong team play as squads continue to grow in confidence and cohesion.

Netspresso Martinis took on Hoop Troops in a closely fought contest that ended 10–8. The game was evenly balanced for much of the match, with both sides working the ball through the court and creating regular scoring opportunities. Netspresso Martinis showed good patience in their build-up play, while Hoop Troops were able to capitalise on key moments, particularly in the latter stages, to maintain a narrow lead.

Ball Slappers delivered a composed and consistent performance in their 19–1 win over Enchanted. From the opening centre pass, Ball Slappers showed strong communication and fluid movement through all thirds of the court, allowing them to build momentum steadily across each quarter. Enchanted, despite the scoreline, continued to show determination and kept working to create openings, demonstrating a positive attitude throughout.

Court Queens and Midas Touch played out a steady and organised game, with Midas Touch securing a 7–4 win. Both teams focused on structured play, with careful passing and disciplined positioning. Court Queens worked hard defensively to keep the scoreline close, while Midas Touch made the most of their opportunities in front of goal, gradually building a lead that they were able to hold onto. It was a measured contest that highlighted the importance of consistency and decision-making.

Kelly Cook of Ball Slappers was named Most Valued Player for the week. Her performance stood out for its all-round quality, contributing both in attack and general play. Her movement off the ball created space for teammates, while her composure and awareness helped maintain her team’s flow throughout the match.

Overall, the evening reflected the continued development of teams across the league, with a mix of closely contested games and strong team performances. As the season progresses, sides will be looking to build on these foundations, with further improvements in teamwork, communication and consistency expected in the coming weeks.
