Play in the Ashbourne Wednesday You Play Netball league
Week 8 of the Ashbourne Wednesday league took place at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, with teams returning to the court for another enjoyable evening of social netball. Players of different experience levels came together to take part in the evening’s fixtures, with plenty of teamwork, effort and support on display throughout.
The first match saw Nets Get Physical take on The Ash-tonishers. Both teams worked hard from the first whistle and showed good commitment throughout the game. It was a closely contested fixture, with Nets Get Physical securing a narrow 10-8 victory. The Ash-tonishers continued to compete and kept the pressure on until the final whistle, making it an enjoyable and competitive game.
The second match of the evening featured Bourne Lucky and Still Playing. Both teams showed good teamwork and determination as they worked to create scoring opportunities. Still Playing put in a strong team performance and secured a 13-10 win. Bourne Lucky remained competitive throughout the match and continued to support one another, keeping the game close until the end.
A special mention this week goes to Most Valued Player, Jada Murray from Pass Me The Wine. Jada made a positive contribution to her team and showed great enthusiasm throughout the evening. Her movement around the court, effort and support for her teammates were recognised, making her a deserving recipient of this week’s award. Well done, Jada.
As we move into Week 9, we look forward to welcoming all the teams back to Ashbourne Leisure Centre for another evening of social netball. The Ashbourne Wednesday league provides a friendly and supportive environment where players can enjoy the game, stay active, develop their netball skills and play as part of a team.
Thank you to all the players, teams and umpires for their continued support and for helping to create a welcoming atmosphere each week. It is great to see players building confidence, developing their teamwork and supporting one another both on and off the court.
As a Back to Netball league, we would like to remind everyone to continue playing in the friendly and social spirit of the league. Please remember to respect the umpires and their decisions throughout every fixture. Umpires play an important role in ensuring that games are played fairly and safely, and everyone’s support is appreciated.
