Ashbourne Wednesday Social Netball - week 4

Week 4 of the Ashbourne Wednesday Netball League at Ashbourne Leisure Centre provided another evening of competitive and enjoyable action, with teams continuing to develop as the season progresses.

The opening fixture saw Pass Me The Wine take on Nets Get Physical. Both teams produced a strong performance, creating an entertaining contest from start to finish. Pass Me The Wine secured a 13-9 victory thanks to some effective attacking play and good teamwork across the court. Nets Get Physical remained competitive throughout and showed plenty of determination, ensuring the game stayed closely contested.

The second match featured Ball Of Fame against Still Playing in what proved to be one of the closest games of the evening. Both teams battled hard for every ball and demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout. Ball Of Fame narrowly came out on top with a 13-11 victory after a closely fought encounter that remained in the balance until the final stages.

Next up were Bourne Lucky and Sling It Sisters. The teams matched each other well during an entertaining game, with Sling It Sisters eventually securing an 11-8 win. Strong defensive play and consistent movement helped them edge ahead, while Bourne Lucky continued to create opportunities and remained competitive throughout the match.

The final game of the night saw Ash & Dash take on The Ash-tonishers. Ash & Dash delivered a confident performance to record a 15-7 victory, combining solid defensive work with effective finishing in attack. The Ash-tonishers continued to work hard throughout the game and showed great resilience, contributing to an enjoyable contest played in excellent spirit.

This week's Most Valued Player award goes to Rachael Pointon from Ash & Dash. Rachael impressed with her energy, movement and commitment throughout the evening. Her positive attitude and contribution on court were recognised by teammates and opponents alike, making her a deserving recipient of this week's award.

Four weeks into the season, teams are continuing to build confidence and improve with each game. The league provides a fantastic opportunity for players of all abilities to enjoy regular netball, stay active and be part of a welcoming and supportive sporting community. The standard of play continues to improve each week, while the friendly atmosphere remains a key part of what makes the league so enjoyable.
