Ashbourne Wednesday Netball League

Week 4 of the Ashbourne Wednesday Netball League at Ashbourne Leisure Centre delivered another evening of competitive action, with teams continuing to improve as the season progresses.

The opening fixture saw Pass Me The Wine take on Nets Get Physical. Both teams produced an entertaining contest, but Pass Me The Wine made the most of their chances to claim a 13-9 victory. Nets Get Physical stayed in the game throughout, showing determination and teamwork until the final whistle.

The second match featured Ball Of Fame against Still Playing in one of the closest games of the evening. Neither side was able to pull away as the lead changed hands several times, but Ball Of Fame edged a hard-fought contest 13-11 thanks to a composed finish in the closing stages.

Next up were Bourne Lucky and Sling It Sisters. Both teams battled well throughout the match, with Sling It Sisters securing an 11-8 victory. Strong defensive play and well-worked attacking moves proved the difference, while Bourne Lucky continued to create opportunities and remained competitive until the end.

The final fixture saw Ash & Dash face The Ash-tonishers. Ash & Dash produced a confident all-round performance to record a 15-7 win, combining solid defending with accurate shooting. The Ash-tonishers worked hard throughout and continued to compete, helping round off another enjoyable evening of netball.

This week's Most Valued Player was Rachael Pointon from Ash & Dash. Rachael earned the award for her energy, movement and consistent contribution throughout the match. Her positive attitude and work rate made her a standout performer on the night.

With four weeks completed, the league continues to provide a great balance of competitive netball and a welcoming social atmosphere. Teams are developing with each round of fixtures, and it has been encouraging to see players of all abilities enjoying the competition while supporting one another on and off the court.
