Play in the Ashbourne Wednesday You Play Netball League

Week 10 of the social netball season at Ashbourne Leisure Centre saw another good evening of netball, with three fixtures taking place. The games provided a mix of close contests and strong performances, with all teams working hard and continuing to enjoy their weekly fixtures.

The first match saw Bourne Lucky take on The Ash-tonishers. This was a very close game, with both teams competing well and keeping the score tight throughout. Bourne Lucky managed to maintain a narrow lead and finished with a 7-6 victory. With only one goal separating the teams, it was a competitive fixture right through to the final whistle.

Ash & Dash then faced Nets Get Physical in the second game of the evening. Ash & Dash had a strong performance and finished with an 18-9 win. Both teams worked hard across the court, with good movement and passing creating opportunities at both ends. Nets Get Physical continued to compete throughout the game despite the scoreline.

The final fixture saw Ball Of Fame take on Sling It Sisters. Another competitive game followed, with both teams working hard to create chances and keep possession. Sling It Sisters eventually secured the win, finishing 18-16. The two-goal difference reflected how closely contested the game was, with both teams continuing to push until the final whistle.

A special mention goes to Bec McBride from Nets Get Physical, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Bec put in a strong performance, showing good movement around the court and making a valuable contribution to her team throughout the game.

After 10 weeks of the season, the league continues to provide regular opportunities for players to get on court and enjoy competitive netball. With a range of experience levels across the teams, each week provides players with the chance to develop their game, work on their teamwork and play against different opposition.

As a Back to Netball league, the focus is on keeping the games friendly and enjoyable while still allowing teams to compete. We encourage all players to continue playing in the spirit of the league, supporting their teammates and making the most of their weekly fixtures.

Week 11 is up next, with another evening of netball at Ashbourne Leisure Centre. We look forward to seeing all the teams back on court and continuing the season.
