WEEK 12 OF THE ASHBOURNE WEDNESDAY NETBALL LEAGUE

Week twelve of the Ashbourne Wednesday netball league brought another enjoyable evening of competitive fixtures, with teams across the League continuing to show strong teamwork, determination, and improvement on court. With only a couple of weeks remaining in the season, every match continues to provide valuable opportunities for teams to build confidence and finish the season positively.

One of the evening’s fixtures saw The Ash-tonishers secure a 16-7 win over Bourne Lucky 7. Both teams showed good effort and commitment throughout the game, with The Ash-tonishers finding consistency across the court to help them take the result. Bourne Lucky 7 continued to compete well and created several positive moments during the match.

Elsewhere, Ash & Dash recorded a 22-11 victory against Nets Get Physical. Ash & Dash showed good teamwork and movement around the court, while Nets Get Physical continued to work hard and remained determined throughout the game. It was another entertaining and competitive fixture for everyone involved.

Sling It Sisters also earned a closely contested 12-10 win over Ball of Fame. Both teams produced some strong passages of play and kept the game competitive from start to finish, making it one of the evening’s tightest fixtures.

Pass Me The Wine completed the evening’s results with a 15-5 win against Still Playing. Both sides showed positive effort and teamwork throughout the match, contributing to another enjoyable game in the League.

There were also some excellent individual performances on display, with Rosie King from Ash & Dash being named Player of the Week. Her contribution on court, combined with strong teamwork and consistency, helped make a real impact for her side.

Across the League, teams continue to develop and improve each week, building confidence and enjoying their netball in a friendly and supportive environment. The standard of play continues to grow as players gain experience and strengthen their teamwork on court.

We would also like to remind all players of the importance of respecting umpire decisions throughout each match. Our umpires play a vital role in ensuring games are enjoyable, fair, and played in the right spirit for everyone involved. While matches can be competitive, we encourage all teams to continue showing respect and support towards officials and one another both on and off the court.

With just two weeks remaining in the season, teams will now be looking to finish strongly and continue building on their performances. There is still plenty to play for, and the final rounds of fixtures promise more enjoyable and closely contested matches.
