Ashbourne Wednesday Netball League – Opening Week Round-Up

The new season of the Ashbourne Wednesday Netball League got off to a fantastic start, with teams delivering strong performances and setting an exciting tone for the weeks ahead.

In one of the standout matches of the evening, Sling It Sisters took on Ash & Dash. Ash & Dash produced a confident display to secure a 20–7 victory, combining accurate shooting with well-organised teamwork across the court.

The Ash-tonishers faced Nets Get Physical in an entertaining contest, with The Ash-tonishers holding their nerve to claim a 17–9 win. Both teams showed great effort and determination throughout the match.

Bourne Lucky and Still Playing also battled it out in a competitive fixture. Bourne Lucky maintained steady control to earn a 7–3 victory, demonstrating strong defensive play and composure.

Another exciting game saw Pass Me The Wine take on Ball Of Fame. In a lively and well-contested match, Pass Me The Wine secured an 18–11 win, thanks to consistent attacking play and good movement around the circle.

A special mention goes to Becky Harrington of Ball Of Fame, who was named Most Valued Player of the Week. Her impressive performance and commitment on court stood out, despite her team’s result.

Congratulations to Ash & Dash, Pass Me The Wine, and The Ash-tonishers as the top scorers in the league this week. With the season just beginning, all teams will be aiming to build momentum and challenge for the top positions.
