Downham Market Monday Social Netball - week 1

Downham Market Monday You Play Netball League – Week 1

Week 1 of the Downham Market Monday social netball league got underway at Alive Downham Leisure, with teams returning to the court for an enjoyable evening of netball.

The first game saw The Ginger Snaps take on Ball Me Maybe. It was a closely contested game, with both teams finishing on 2 goals each in a 2-2 draw.

Next up were Pocket Rockets and Double Down. Double Down finished with 16 goals, while Pocket Rockets scored 4. Both teams played in good spirit and enjoyed their first game of the new season.

Nimble Ninjas then faced Exclamation Marks, with Nimble Ninjas taking the win 16-9. Both teams worked hard throughout the game and kept the match competitive.

The final game of the evening saw Market Leaders play In It To Win It. Market Leaders finished with 16 goals to In It To Win It’s 6.

Our Most Valued Player of the week was Sonia Loughran from Market Leaders. Sonia made a positive contribution throughout the game, showing good movement and teamwork.

A reminder to all teams that this is a social Back to Netball league. Please respect the decisions of the umpires and remember that the league is about getting back on court, keeping active and enjoying netball. The league is strictly 18+ and does not include county or divisional players.

We look forward to seeing everyone back for Week 2 and another evening of friendly social netball.
