Downham Market Monday Social Netball news 2026-08-17
A fantastic opening night of social netball marked the start of the new season at Alive Downham Leisure last night. Players took to the court, sharing smiles, energy, and a love for the game.
A special mention goes out to the Most Valued Player of the week, Georgia Macwilliam, from Double Down. Georgia's enthusiasm and movement around the court was not just appreciated by her teammates but also admired by her opponents, a testament to the spirit of netball.
A few notes...
Don’t forget that if you are ever short of a player, you can bring a friend, colleague or family member along to fill in. You can also post out into the Facebook Group to ask for subs- this gives you access to all of the players in the league. If you are struggling each week for numbers, just let us know and we can help find you extra players from our waiting list.
Remember to follow your fixtures each week on our website and ensure that you arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your start time.
One final note to push out for the safety of all players is to ensure that nails are short (if not you will need to wear gloves), rings and piercings are taped and watches are removed. I am aware that certain Fitbit watches are acceptable (they tend to be the ones with the rubber straps that include the watch face) however some apple watches that are raised are not. If you are asked by the umpire to remove an item of jewellery, remember, this is for your own safety and others, we expect all players to adhere to this…
We look forward to welcoming you all again next week.
